Comparison

LiveChatDock vs LiveChat.com

LiveChat.com is a large, established player with a correspondingly large price tag once you add agents and tiers. Here's an honest, feature-by-feature look at how LiveChatDock compares.

The short version

LiveChat.com charges per agent across four tiers (Starter through Enterprise), and sells its AI agent and helpdesk as a separate paid product. LiveChatDock is one flat $10/month price for your whole team, with every feature included, no add-ons, no seat math. What LiveChatDock doesn't have (yet): a built-in AI chatbot or a standalone knowledge-base product. If you specifically need those today, LiveChat.com's add-ons cover them; if you want straightforward live chat without the pricing complexity, that's exactly what LiveChatDock is built for.

Who LiveChat.com suits

LiveChat.com is a large, established product. It suits organisations that need its AI agent, its helpdesk, white-label widgets on Enterprise, or compliance features such as HIPAA support. Its Text product, which combines chat and ticketing with an AI agent, starts at $19 per user per month billed annually.

It is a strong option for a team that has the budget for per-agent pricing and needs those extras today.

Who LiveChatDock suits

LiveChatDock suits a small team that wants live chat without per-agent pricing, and does not need an AI agent or a helpdesk product. The whole workspace is $10 a month, with unlimited agents, and the features that LiveChat sells as higher tiers are included.

If you need the AI agent or a helpdesk, LiveChat.com's add-ons may fit better. The LiveChat alternative page sets out the trade-off in shorter form.

What each option costs at real team sizes

These figures use LiveChat's published Starter, Team and Business rates billed annually, checked 6 October 2026. Starter is for one user, so teams of more than one person need Team or Business. LiveChatDock is one price regardless of team size.

AgentsLiveChat.com plan that fitsLiveChat.com monthly (annual billing)LiveChatDock monthly
1Starter$19$10
5Team$245$10
10Team$490$10
20Business$1,580$10

Visitor and history limits

LiveChat limits what each plan can track. Starter tracks up to 100 visitors and keeps 60 days of chat history. Team tracks 400 visitors with unlimited history, and Business tracks 1,000 visitors. On LiveChatDock, visitor tracking and chat history are not artificially limited, and the same applies on every plan.

If your site gets more traffic than these limits suggest, check how each vendor counts visitors before you choose, since the definitions differ.

Switching from LiveChat.com

There is no automated import tool for chat history from LiveChat.com. Most teams move at a natural break and keep the old chat history in LiveChat for reference. Install the new widget, check it on a few pages, and then remove the LiveChat script.

The canned response examples help you rebuild your reply library quickly, and the welcome message examples cover the first line visitors see.

Switching

Questions about moving over.

Can I import my chat history from LiveChat.com?

Not yet. There's no automated import tool today. Most teams switch at a natural break point (start of month, new season) rather than migrating historical chats.

Will my team need training to switch?

The dashboard is built to be self-explanatory, most teams are answering their first chat within minutes of signing up.

What if I need the AI chatbot LiveChat.com offers?

LiveChatDock doesn't have a built-in AI chatbot today. If that's a hard requirement, LiveChat.com's add-on may suit you better. We're honest about that.

Is there a catch to the $10/month price?

No. It's the same price whether you have 1 agent or 20, with every feature included. No hidden per-seat charges.
