Comparison

LiveChatDock vs Crisp

Crisp is one of the few live chat tools that also talks about flat, predictable pricing, so it's the comparison worth making carefully. Here's exactly where the two actually differ.

The short version

Crisp's free plan is genuinely generous, canned responses are included, but it caps you at 2 seats and locks the rest behind seat-banded tiers: a custom email domain from the $45/month Mini plan, integrations, webhooks, and the API from the $95/month Essentials plan, and custom branding (removing Crisp's own branding from your widget) only on the $295/month Plus plan. LiveChatDock includes all of it at $10/month flat, no tier to grow into. What LiveChatDock doesn't have (yet): a knowledge base or an AI chatbot, both of which Crisp offers on its paid plans. If you need those today, Crisp's higher tiers cover them; if you want live chat without a seat-and- feature ladder to climb, that's what LiveChatDock is built for.

Why switch

What matters once you look past the free plan.

One price, not a seat-count ladder

Crisp's tiers are banded by seats (2 → 4 → 10 → 20+). You still recalculate as you grow. LiveChatDock doesn't have that ladder.

Webhooks & API without the $95 tier

On Crisp, integrations, webhooks, and the API start at the $95/month Essentials plan. Here they're part of the one $10/month plan.

No branding paywall

Removing third-party branding from your widget is a $295/month feature on Crisp. It's just included here.

Faster to set up

One script tag and you're live. No onboarding call, no tier to pick first.

Who Crisp suits

Crisp is a sensible choice for a small team that wants to start free and can work with two seats for now. Its free plan includes canned responses, which is more than many free plans offer. If you need a knowledge base or an AI chatbot, Crisp's Essentials plan covers both, and LiveChatDock does not.

It also suits teams that are comfortable with seat-based pricing and expect to stay at a size where the tier steps do not change much. If you plan to hire a few people over the next year, check the seat limits first.

Who LiveChatDock suits

LiveChatDock is built for a team that expects to grow, wants integrations and branding removal without moving up a tier, and would rather pay one price. The features page lists everything that is included on the one plan.

If you need a knowledge base or an AI chatbot, Crisp is the better fit today. If you need the widget to carry your own brand and want webhooks from day one, the cost difference is large.

What each option costs at real team sizes

The table below uses the plans as listed on Crisp's pricing page, checked 6 October 2026. Crisp's seat limits decide which tier you need. LiveChatDock is one price regardless of team size.

4Mini (4 seats)$45$10
10Essentials (10 seats)$95$10

Switching from Crisp

LiveChatDock does not have an automated import tool for Crisp conversation history. Most teams switch at a natural break, such as the start of a month, and run both widgets for a short time while the team gets used to the new inbox.

Set up the new widget first, write the canned responses you need, and then remove the Crisp script once the team is comfortable. The setup guide walks through the steps.

Switching

Questions about moving over.

Can I import my Crisp conversation history?

Not yet. There's no automated import tool today. Most teams switch at a natural break point (start of month, new season) rather than migrating historical chats.

Will my team need training to switch?

The dashboard is built to be self-explanatory, most teams are answering their first chat within minutes of signing up.

What about the knowledge base or AI chatbot Crisp offers?

LiveChatDock doesn't have a built-in knowledge base or AI chatbot today. If either is a hard requirement, Crisp's paid tiers cover them. We're honest about that.

Is there a catch to the $10/month price?

No. It's the same price and the same features whether you have 1 agent or 20. No seat bands, no tier to grow into.
